Mossel Bay is rich with history, as the explorer, Bartholomew Diaz landed on Munro beach (next to our harbour) in February 1488, on arrival, they with the KHOI-SAN indigenous people and immediately had a heated debate about water. Van Caerden a Dutch navigator, gave Mossel Bay its name.
Your host is Ilze Roos and she is married to Attie. Ilze is managing the B&B and Self-catering business and related services, while Attie is employed full-time, elsewhere. The relevant services will be managed on an outsourced basis. In the 80's, Ilze lived and worked in England for a period of 1 yr, during which time she virtually touched all corners of Europe. At about the same time Attie, on the other hand, worked and played rugby in France for over 2 years, and got to know Western Europe and Scandinavia pretty well.
More recently, Attie, Ilze and 2 of their 4 children lived in Germany, where Attie worked on an IT contract. The children attended international schools near Frankfurt.
During their stay in Germany the Roos family explored Eastern Europe in their spare time up to the Kremlin in Moscow. In addition, they extended their Western Europe travelling from previous years, saw much of the United States of America and visited countries in the Pacific region such as China Nanjing and Shanghai plus Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai
We have a wide ange of activities such as wildlife visits, game drives, wine tasting, boat trips, scuba diving, shark cage diving, hiking, golfing,casino - in and around Mossel Bay.
The Klein Karoo region is located just North of the Garden Route and together offer you South Africa in a nutshell culture, scenic beauty, wildlife, spectacular beaches, multi-ethnic food and wine, sport, exotic eco systems, extravagant mountain ranges, and much, much more. In sharp contrast to the Garden Route, the Klein Karoo region consists of dry semi-arid scrub land. The Hottentots and Bushmen, last of the South African indigenous peoples, called this region + Place of the Great Dryness+- from which the name *Karoo+ is derived.
