This unique Karoo style House in Oudtshoorn is the ideal self-catering breakaway. Oudtshoorn is central to use as a base for activities and sightseeing in the surrounding area. This purpose-built guest house has fourfive large rooms that open onto a large patio with your own private swimming pool to enjoy. The rooms are cooled down by aircon and ceiling fans. Each room has a spacious en suite bathroom with toilet, basin and shower. The house is ideal for two couples with children as the four rooms are divided by a large living area with leather sofa and large dining table. This provides privacy for separate groups of people. The kitchen adjoins the living room and has all the equipment needed to make your stay more comfortable, including gas stove top and refridgerator plus a fireplace. We have 2 more units for smaller groups.
The house is surrounded by indigenous rock and Aloe plants and trees provide shade all year round. The Karoo Retreat overlooks our own organic vegetable garden. The Karoo Retreat is in a cul de sac so it is a wonderful environment to go for strolls or cycling with the children. Within walking distance is a few farm animals for children to view:
ostrich, sheep, cows, horses and a donkey. We do have braai facilities. We can also organize baby sitting and provide a laundry service. If you do not feel like cooking we do have breakfast baskets for a treat. All of this for you to feel at home. We welcome you! This is an ideal place for friends & family that need their own space & privacy. Karoo Retreat is child friendly and also perfect for functions & workshops.
Golf course and 50 m swimming pool situated close by, as well as Tennis courts and Walking trails. The Airport is located 40 min away and the beach can be reached in an hour. Close to Game farms as well as the International pilot training academy. The Swartberg Nature Reserve is also located in Oudtshoorn - with a huge variety of fauna and flora, this area will be sure to touch the hearts of all nature lovers. Oudtshoorn has a variety of Ostrich Farms to visit, such as Cango Ostrich Farm, Safari Ostrich Farm and Highgate Ostrich Farm.
