Description

Although Mattsen's Restaurant has been open since 1987, it moved to their current location in Swellengrebel Street in January 2005. The relaxed atmosphere lends itself to an evening of casual dining with a bit of class. In the winter a large fire in the diningroom gives a warm and homely trend to the restaurant. While in summer the outside deck section under the oak trees, is a favourite with weary travellers.

The food is prepared fresh and the menu offers a wide variety. Their slogan 'We do steaks best' says it all. Quality South African meat is used to prepare mouthwatering steaks, burgers and ribbs.  Steaks are cut and grilled to order. Also available

The winelist offers a big selection of local Robertson / Bonnievale wine along with some selections from Paarl and Stellenbosch. They are the only restaurant in Swellendam open 7 days a week from 11am - 10pm. Take-aways are also an option.
