Since 1984 Wombles Steakhouse Restaurant has provided customers in Zimbabwe with man-size portions of Zimbabwean beef and other culinary delights.

Owners Duncan and Yvette Barker have now opened Wombles in Parktown North after a period in Australia where they owned Campo de Fiori. A testimony to their success in Australia was winning the Gold Plate Award, which is the highest honour a Restaurant can receive. After owning and managing over 7 establishments the Barker family has settled on Johannesburg.

"We were missing Africa and wanted to take concepts from other Restaurants and Lodges we have owned and incorporate the themes and food styles into one", says Duncan Barker - Chef / Owner.

Wombles Steakhouse Restaurant - South Africa offers a colonial / plantation style ambience with "Out of Africa" style cuisine to match. Relaxed atmosphere filled with candlelight or an outdoor lunch in the garden make for a classic dining experience.

A selection of steaks, poultry, pasta and seafood are on the daily menu with a carefully selected range of popular dishes from Barkers Lodge, Campo de Fiore and Wombles Zimbabwe.

The wine list offers a broad selection from Boutique estates and South Africa’s premium cellar masters. The wine racks contain a diverse range of Vintage and Auction reserves from Private Collections. Customers are encouraged to make their own choice for an accompaniment to their dining experience.
