RCYC has a variety of function venues for hire, ranging in size for those small and refined functions to the big rip-roaring parties.
We have a variety of cocktail, set and buffet menus but menus can also be created to suite taste and budget.
Venues
Regatta Centre
The Regatta centre is a large hall adjacent to the main clubhouse that has a multitude of uses, ranging from exhibitions, auctions and workshops to dinners and parties for large groups of up to 450 people.
With your imagination and the skill of our staff, this venue can be transformed into an Aladdin’s Cave, an enchanted garden, a tropical beach, a frothy pink teenage dream….
It accommodate up to 250 guests seated at tables and 450 guests for a large cocktail party or a beer fest.
Bar facilities can be set up and there are ablution facilities in the venue.
The whole waterfront side is composed of glass sliding doors giving a spectacular view onto the yachts, even in the wildest winter weather. A central wood stove takes the chill off in winter and on warm days the doors can be thrown open to give an al-fresco feeling.
The Main Hall
The Main Hall is carpeted and boasts the pride of Royal Cape Yacht Clubs sailing achievements – the trophy cabinet.
With air-conditioning, numerous power points and a big class projection screen, the Main Hall can be used for conferences, luncheons, dinners, weddings and parties.
There is room for cinema style seating for 150 guests or 120 guests seated at tables.
The terrace area can be added to your booking and be cleared for dancing.
Chartroom
The chartroom is situated in the second storey of the yacht club and offers a wonderful full view of the yacht basin and some of the surrounding harbour areas. With air conditioning, pull-down screen and power points, this is an ideal venue for smaller conferences and meetings. Cinema style U-shape seating for up to 50 people can be set up.
Visitors’ Lounge
The Visitors Lounge, next to the Chartroom is suitable for small cocktail parties and can accommodate a maximum of 50 people. This area also has a a small bar area, two small balconies and a wonderful view of the yacht basin and surrounding harbour area.
Chartroom and Visitors Lounge
Concertina doors slide aside to merge the two venues into one larger area suitable for weddings and parties for up to 90 guests, or a maximum of 60 guests if a small dance area is required. If used for a sit down dinner the venue can accommodate a maximum of 80 guests.
