Somerset Guest House is situated in Glenwood, one of Durban's oldest suburbs.
Only 3km from the city centre, 5km from the beach, 39km from the airport, 5min walking distance from Davenport shopping centre and 7 restaurants, we are ideally located for access to all a guest could need.
Built in 1903, Somerset Guest House is over a hundred years old and still features original Oregon pine floors and high ceilings. This classic colonial house is full of character and charm, matched by the warmth and hospitality of its owners.
On the ground level guests may utilize and enjoy a TV lounge, dining area, pool, lapa, garden and safe parking for 6 vehicles. An extensive brochure display also affords guests ample info on tourist attractions and game reserves in KwaZulu Natal.
The upstairs bedrooms are all equipped with ceiling fans, air conditioners, tea/coffee facilities, clock radios, extra long beds and quality linen.
Guests can choose from: 2 twin rooms with balconies; 2 twin rooms with en-suite showers; 1 room with a double bed and Victorian bath, and 1 room with twin beds and a bath. We can accommodate maximum 12 people and only allow 2 people per room.
To make your stay more like “home away from home”, we also provide the following extras: hair dryer, clothes iron, safe, fridge, micro-wave, full laundry service, and because we know how important it is to keep in touch, an internet connection.
