A highlight of the year in this area is the Annual Cherry Festival. This festival occurs during the asparagus and cherry growing season in OctoberNovember. The main activities take place during the third week in November. Plenty to do and see including a bowls tournament, cherry and asparagus farm tours, cigar boat excursions (only one in Southern Africa) as well as the Cherry Marathon and Bicycle race.
