To many people the bushveld is the most typical and the most beautiful veld type in South Africa. The natural beauty and startling diversity of the bushveld savannah, with its endless stretches of grass and trees bordered by the mountain ranges, cannot but sooth the stressed soul. In addition, the large animal population and prolific bird life, interesting peoples and fascinating history, mountain pots and activities make it the favourite place for many South Africans and International Travellers.
Camp Mabula is one of the remarkable destinations along the cultural heritage route in the Limpopo Province. With 9 000 acres of bushveld with a touch of many wonderful landscapes from rivers to mountains open plains and dense bush. The Shongwane archaeological pots from the Late Stone Age on Bobidi Mountain are well worth the trip up the mountain.
Mabula is situated about 3km in the Safarilands Reserve and is a small island paradise in the middle of the Bushveld. The circular flowing lawns hold all the small wooden cabins, nestled amongst massive indigenous trees and smaller thorn bushes. Each cabin caters for two people with its own private braai place. With a large communal thatched kitchen, bar and dining area that is well equipped with fridges, freezers, stove, microwave and plenty of room. The communal ablutions offer separate toilet, shower and bath facilities. The swimming pool is surrounded by tall palms and flanked by a large open fireplace.
The self-catering accommodation of eight cabins, two caravan and two camping sites with electric points make Mabula a rare peaceful treat to any visitor to the area. Bedding crockery & cutlery are supplied with electricity and refrigeration available. Mabula is also offered as an overnight and day function venue with a maximum of 32 people.
Camp Mabula offers superb scenery, game viewing, tracking and photographic opportunities to wildlife enthusiasts. Our area offers the *Big 5+. Camp Mabula is safe with all plains game visiting the Camp AND alive with many species of smaller mammals, reptiles, insects and a rich diversity of bird life. Smaller game frequents the waterholes at the Camp often and is fairly relaxed. Species on the Reserve includes Warthog, Impala, Gemsbuck, Eland, Giraffe, Zebra, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Jackal, Ant Eaters and many other smaller species.
