Charter Guest House was started when the owners, Erna en At van Wyk, realised, when their last child of their extended family, left home, a big comfortable house with lots of comfortable amenities and accommodation could easily be converted into a guest house.
The original house had to be extended in 1999 to accommodate the new family of 7 children when Erna and At got married after losing their respective spouses whom both passed away.
Erna with her flair of interior decorating and designing, her know-how of running a big house with a big family and easy going personality, made the transition of converting and running the house as a guest house, with ease.
At who is a practising attorney, lends his support to the team as sleeping partner (pun intended) on the financial, management and maintenance side of the enterprise.
