Nestled snugly in the mountains, our luxurious, secluded cottages have magnificent views of the crags, and come with a rare attribute privacy. Ideal for when you want a breather to reconnect body and soul, or, simply put, some quality "me" time ... or better still, "we" time
Intimate and self-contained
Take a deep breath and set out to enjoy absolute privacy and an unsurpassed view of the Magaliesberg Mountains and valley. Each cottage has an open-plan loungedinning area with fireplace, separate bedroom with beautiful King-sized bed, a well-equipped kitchen, double bath, double inside shower and double outside shower and a secluded spa bath.

The cottages are fully equipped, including microwave and all the paraphernalia needed to ensure a "hassle-free" stay. Fresh linen is provided daily along with slippers, gowns and a hairdryer, and the cottages are fully serviced daily, at a time convenient to guests, which can be arranged on arrival.
Each cottage has a fireplace and complimentary port is served on chilly winter nights. The outdoor furniture is comfortable and perfect for dinner on the patio on warm barmy nights. Loungers are available for that intent on complete relaxation.
In keeping with the romantic theme of our venue there are no TV"s in the cottages major sport events can be viewed at the farmhouse (by arrangement) or one of the nearby country pubs in the vicinity.
A weber braai and firewood are provided, but please bring your own briquettes. Salt, pepper and tea, filter coffee, milk and sugar are provided. Picnic baskets are available on request at a cost of R250.
A select menu of cooked meals can be ordered from our resident chef and can be delivered to your door on prior request!
Phefumula is 24kms from Magaliesberg, in the heart of the Magalies Meander. Here there are shops, banking facilities and restaurants.
The energetic can walk to the top of the Magaliesberg mountain and then wander along the ridge for several kilometers and enjoy the spectacular views on both sides.
Bring your daypack, book a picnic basket with tasty homemade "goodies" and have lunch while enjoying a panorama of the oldest mountain range in the southern hemisphere. Demarcated walks through the forest and veldland an hour or more, depending on your choice. Once again a picnic of homemade delicacies can be enjoyed anywhere along the route. Add to this a bottle of wine or bubbly for the perfect spread. Picnic baskets are equipped with plates, utensils and glasses. Available for R250 (not including wine bring your own or we can supply).
Mountain biking
There are approximately 10kms of trails on the farm with a few technical bits. A 100metre ride along the shoulder of the R24 gives you access to many kilometers of dirt road. 5kms along the shoulder gives you access to Breedt"s Nek pass and the dirt roads to Buffelspoort dam and Hekpoort. For the not so energetic adventure seekers there are a number of demarcated trails through forest and across the veld. With a daypack this can be interrupted by a stop for a restorative picnic. Bring your own bikes.
Horse riding
Every Sunday at about 10h00 Dave or Jenni lead out-rides along one of the numerous trails. All levels of riding are accommodated from a gentle walk along the side of the mountain with a spectacular view of the valley to a more energetic canter through open veld and vlei or a combination of both! The horses are well trained and a variety of saddles are available. On the way home you hosts will provide a sparkling wine or Pimms stop on the side of the mountain at your request. You have the option of bringing your own horse trained grooms and stables are provided.
