At Tropical Gardens you wont find chocolate on your pillow. There are no monogrammed bath robes or complimentary slippers. We do not offer room service and there are no mini-bars crammed with overpriced drinks. There are no expensive soaps, shampoos or body lotions in the bathrooms. Our sheets dont have a one thousand thread count. We do not force you to buy our wonderful breakfast.
We do, however, offer clean comfortable rooms and personalised service without the stiff formality of regular hotel or upmarket guest house. We only use bio-degradable washing powders and soaps and have owned and managed the property for the past eleven years. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we can give every guest who stays with us. We offer good quality, warm and friendly accommodation in a country setting on a well secured seven hectare property.
Elephants and giraffes do not freely roam the property and we do not have quad bikes, game drives or horse riding.
You can, with the money you save on accommodation, experience all of those activities within half an hour or less from our property. Entrance to an off site resort with sparkling pools, river rides and super tubes, as well as picnic and braai facilities only 800 meters from the lodge.
Our accommodation ranges from a luxury suite with air-conditioning and oval bath, to our semi -luxury rooms all with private entrances en suite bathrooms and tea and coffee facilities, to our back packer chalets, which both sleep six and have there own braai area and bathrooms.
We also offer evening meals and, for those who need to hit the road early, breakfast packs. Lodge guests have a communal lounge with DStv and fireplace where they can relax. A well equipped Communal Kitchen, braai areas and potjiekos pots are available for those who like to prepare their own meals. We are fully licensed and alcohol may only be bought on to the property by prior arrangement with management.
We are situated in the countryside in what has become Gauteng's playground to such an extent, that we are the second most visited tourist destination after the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. The reason being is that our area offers cultural and historical experiences, nature scenes and wildlife, fun, sport and adventure activities, live entertainment and some 200 bars, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife to name but a few. We are also only within a short pleasant country drive, which makes us very central and accessible.
