DESCRIPTION

Lovers of splendid scenery and the open road will delight in a stopover at Karins on Main bed & breakfast and deli in Bonnievale, where a warm welcome, country comforts and great local food and wine are the key ingredients, no matter how long or short your stay.

Unwind in a village atmosphere and soak up our hospitality over a glass of locally produced shiraz or chilled sauvignon as you tuck into fresh, homemade food. Relax in the luxurious en suite rooms of our bed &breakfast, or at the pool with its views over the vineyards.

All our en suite rooms have air conditioning, DStv and a private entrance.
We welcome children of all ages.
You are most welcome to make use of the fully fitted kitchendining area, or enjoy breakfast and lunch at the Deli. Relax next to the swimming pool with a glass of chilled local wine and take in the vineyards, or get cosy next to the sitting room fireplace on cold winter evenings.

For us every meal is a celebration of life, which is why we opened our delirestaurant in the countryside. We"ve carefully restored the building to set the scene for sharing our love of people, good food and wine, and to give visitors a taste of life in the slow lane.

With its cosmopolitan d#cor and interesting menu, the Deli is airy yet intimate, a charming, quirky and colourful place to enjoy our famous breakfasts or the delicious chef"s lunchtime specials that change every week

We recently started our own hydroponic nursery to produce fresh vegetables and herbs for the Deli"s kitchen and shop. So far it"s been growing up a storm! We have harvested our first crops of salad leaves, spinach and a variety of herbs. When successfully tested, we hope to roll this out as a community project.

Just off the Western Cape"s famous Route 62, a network of picturesque back roads leading to the Garden Route, Bonnievale has a rich farming history that stems back more than a hundred years.

Our little town is tucked away in the abundant Breede River Valley, on the banks of one of the Western Cape"s most spectacular rivers, the Breede. Hemmed in by the Riviersonderend mountains to the south-west and the Langeberg mountains to the north-east, the valley is renowned for its orchards of plums, peaches, apricots, pomegranates, quinces, nectarines and, off course, loads of grapes lovingly grown for delicious wine.

It"s as famous for being part of the longest wine route in the world, where vineyards produce superb dry whites and reds, and some of the country"s best, sweet Hanepoot and Muscadel, whose grapes flourish in the hot summers.
But Bonnievale goes one better. Not for nothing is its surrounding area called the Valley of Cheese and Wine as it also produces top quality cheeses, such as organic feta, cheddar and gouda, as well as goat"s milk feta, halloumi and an award-winning Maasdam-type cheese with a slightly sweet, nutty flavour.
