10 Norwood Road Umtentweni - Port Shepstone KZN
Bed and Breakfast in Umtentweni,KwaZulu Natal
An ancient Mdoni Tree welcomes you to Mdoni House Guest Lodge, an oasis of peace and tranquility situated in Umtentweni, a natural garden suburb nestling on the shores of the Indian Ocean– but just 2km from the bustling cosmopolitan town of Port Shepstoneand close to the hype of all the SouthCoastattractions.
The Bed and Breakfast which is set amongst the trees in a large subtropical garden was designed for the hot KZN summers, with airy rooms with high ceilings making the use of the ceiling fan unnecessary except for the hottest of nights.
Your en-suite bedroom is also equipped with a television, hospitality tray, fridge and fluffy cream towels.
The night time silence, punctuated only by the occasional call of an owl, and our Cloud Nine mattresses, designed specifically for the hospitality industry, will ensure you sleep well and wake refreshed to a delicious breakfast freshly cooked to order and served outside next to the sparkling swimming pool. What better way to start your day?
For those on holiday, braai facilities are provided and the busy business traveller can pre-order a three course evening meal on week-nights.
Although the house is in the shade of the trees, the swimming pool feels the full effect of the sun which shines almost every day of the year, making the water balmy and inviting – or you can just relax on a pool lounger or in the shade of the gazebo with a sundowner from our honesty bar after your busy day.
The beach at Umtentweni, approximately 2,5km from Mdoni House Guest Lodge is a large, pretty, protected beach, which also has a tidal pool and an area of sea protected from the large waves by a barrier of rocks.
A grassed braai area and tuck shop are to be found near the guarded car park. It is very popular beach with both surfers and families, and large enough to cater for both.
Some of the best sea fishing spots are very near, and we are within a few minutes drive of the "Buzz" of Shelly Beach and Margate. Port Shepstone is a mere 4km away where there are a variety of shops, restaurants and take-aways, and there are many natural attractions close by if you enjoy sight seeing, walking or bird watching.
And there's plenty to do for the adventurous - the highest commercial abseil in the world, wild swing, shark diving, scuba diving, snorkelling, boat based whale and dolphin watching, 4 x 4 trails etc.etc. – or you could follow a craft trail or visit one of the museums or art galleries – crocodile or snake park or game reserve.
The Hibiscus Coast is also known as the "Golf Coast" because of the wealth of superb golf courses available. There are 11 within a 50km radius of Umtentweni - the closest being at Port Shepstone Country Club just 2km from our door, which also offers other sporting facilities to guests.
Established in 2000 Mdoni House Guest Lodge is one of the most successful Bed & Breakfasts in Port Shepstone with a high percentage of our clientele returning themselves or recommending us to others – Why don’t you join them?
