Tamakwa Country Lodge is situated in the village of Rosetta in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands with dramatic views of the Drakensberg Mountains. The Mooi River meanders along the boundary, encouraging a variety of bird and wildlife.
Hosts, Wendy and Adrian Wilson, offer a choice of luxury self-catering and bed and breakfast accommodation, as well as the personal attention and high standards that have made their establishment the firm favourite of many a traveller.
Tamakwa offers the perfect setting for your think tank, workshop, Lekgotla, brainstorming session or board meeting. With professional service and comfortable setting, it is the ideal venue for creative thought processes.
Burberry cottage is a romantic thatched accommodation for two with a four-poster bed.
In addition, the Farmhouse provides four elegant units - two bed-and-breakfast and two self-catering. Each unit is uniquely decorated and presents stylish and comfortable country living at its best. We also have our two larger cottages. Lavender which sleeps four in two cosy bedrooms each with its own bathroom and Bergview which is our spaciouse six sleeper. All cottages have DSTV, fireplaces and electric blankets and under floor heating in selected units. All rooms are serviced daily. Smoking is permitted outside the cottages.
Enjoy our scrumptious breakfasts overlooking the garden in the sunny breakfast room in the summer months, and by a roaring log fire in the winter months.
Try your hand at tempting the wild brown trout, rainbow or yellow fish on approximately 1 km of the Mooi River which is situated on the property. There are numerous other fly-fishing venues nearby. A professional fishing guide can be arranged if required. There are a number of golf courses in close proximity. We are one hour from the historical battlefields of the Zulu and Anglo Boer wars. There is an array of arts and crafts outlets on the nearby Midlands Meander. Excellent restaurants on our doorstep. We are 50 minutes away from the Giants Castle Drakensberg Park and 20 minutes from the Kamberg reserve. A variety of bird species can be spotted on the property.
